چکیده
The development of promising new high-performance materials, such as composite materials made fibers in a polymeric resin (fiber-reinforced polymer, or FRP), has transformed the structural rehabilitation and upgrade industry for buildings infrastructure. Conventional construction techniques (e.g., strengthening with externally bonded steel plates, known beton plaqués, steel/concrete jackets) have been supplanted by innovative ones. most important emerging involve use composites quick effective option repairing upgrading existing structures. Several issues regarding FRP–substrate interaction, mainly related to brittle failure mechanisms due fracture phenomena, remain focus great deal research. This paper presents an overview debonding behavior its predictive modelling FRP systems.

Failure of a Carbon Fiber–Reinforced Polymer Implant Used for Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion
Lumbar interbody fusion is a common procedure owing to the high prevalence of degenerative spinal disorders. During such procedures, carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) cages are frequently utilized to fill the void created between adjacent vertebral bodies, to provide mechanical stability, and to carry graft material. Failure of such implants can lead to significant morbidity. We discuss th...
متن کاملStrengthening of Corrosion-Damaged Reinforced Concrete Beams with Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Laminates
Problem statement: This study showed the results of an experimental investigation on the strengthening of corrosion damaged reinforced concrete beams with unidirectional cloth glass fiber reinforced polymer (UDCGFRP) laminates. Approach: All the beam specimens 150×250×3000 mm were cast and tested for the present investigation. One beam specimen was neither corroded nor strengthened to serve as ...
متن کاملStrengthening of Existing Bridge Structures for Shear and Bending with Carbon Textile-Reinforced Mortar
Increasing traffic loads and changes in code provisions lead to deficits in shear and flexural capacity of many existing highway bridges. Therefore, a large number of structures are expected to require refurbishment and strengthening in the future. This projection is based on the current condition of many older road bridges. Different strengthening methods for bridges exist to extend their serv...

ID No: FC-169 ABSTRACT The continuous fiber reinforced self-healing ceramic composites (shFRC) were proposed as one of the candidate materials for turbine blade [1]. The shFRC consists of three components, which are oxide fiber bundle, oxide matrix and self-healing agent interlayer. As the self-healing is generated at only the interlayer, it is necessary that crack propagation is led into the i...
متن کاملFiber Reinforced Polymer Composites for Infrastructure Strengthening - From Research to Practice
This paper focuses on the use of emerging technologies for the upgrade of the transportation infrastructure. A number of bridge rehabilitation projects conducted in the State of Missouri in the last three years were selected for presentation. The review is limited to bridge superstructure strengthening to correct flexure and shear deficiencies in non-seismic applications. Strengthening of concr...
